Mad boys skiing ‘long weekend’ with Mark Taggart! Simon in need of well deserved break to chill out from hassle of work. Great location, lovely scenery and fantastic skiing. Expended lots of energy and severely tested nerves by trying to keep up with Mark ‘Jumping Jack Flash’ Taggart. No injuries just lots of laughs – you’ve got a great place here – somewhere to enjoy for many years to come.

We have had a fabulous time. On Wednesday evening we had a real treat - there was a Trial bike show with six world champions demonstrating their skills on an assault course in the town square – most enjoyable. Our grandsons had a great time in the canoes – they paddled to Snack du Lac, we met them for lunch and then returned to the house. The canoes managed to reach the house before the car! The bikes were put to good use – even the pensioners had a go on them! We all have enjoyed ourselves and think that it is the most wonderful place. St André town is a delight.

It’s my last night here and I’ll be really sad to leave. What a great house, perfect location and lots of sun. Our best discovery of the week was Location Nautique Scirocco which is on the way to Castellane, about 15 minutes drive away - great place to sunbathe – our advice – take a picnic as the snack van is expensive.

Many thanks to Mark and Helly for a fabulous 2 weeks spent in St Andre. Our highlights were swimming in the lake and diving off the rocks. What a perfect way to cool down on a hot summer’s day in St André! Put the bikes to good use and Mike founds tens of miles of fantastic tracks right outside the door – always returning with a huge grin! One particularly memorable day we were woken by military jets training just above house level along the lake and in the evening we witnessed 10 shooting stars – perfect.

Many thanks for a great experience. Tomorrow I will be very sad to leave La Plaine. Can’t begin to tell you how much I have loved the peace, serenity and simplicity I have experienced here. It has offered me everything I require from life and hopefully I leave a nicer person.
