Why Saint Andre Les Alpes?

As a kid I would dread being driven from hill to hill searching for perfect conditions or spots to launch. Not much fun for us kids or for Mum.  Mum would do her best to entertain us but keeping everyone happy seemed impossible, except one one holiday by a lake in Italy. Dad was gagging to fly but had very limited time/resource -  not the best combination for the “holiday of a lifetime” which is what everyone wants.

When I first arrived in St Andre for a hangliding comp many years ago, I was gobsmacked!
This place had it all – incredilble flying within one easy location.  WHY DID IT TAKE 30 YEARS TO FIND THIS PLACE?!  Lakes, rivers, rock faces and rope walks, trails, play parks, tennis courts, crazy golf, canoes, trampolines, diving platforms, sailing, ski resorts, downhill mountain biking,  places to skateboard, and play football... (the list goes on – you get the idea).  Dad could have left us to play all day long. Flown his boots off and then got us all together for dinner, everyone  absolutely stoked with their own amazing day.  Holidays would have been perfect being based here!

Having flown at many other wonderful places around the world looking for the perfect spot to live and fly, St Andre became the clear winner made even better with it’s easy access and  close proximity to Nice airport.

In 2002 we bought an old ruined farm, with its own small LZ, overlooking the river and main landing field. Ispent two years thinking about and designing the property to provide flexible, high quality accommodation which was spacious, tranquil and made the most of the incredible views up the Chamatte valley – a unique place to decompress.  In 2006, with construction complete, our dreams had come true and were ready to share.

The accommodation and services we offer are highly flexible; everything you need to keep your holiday costs to a minimum while giving you maximum space, comfort and convenience – not to mention the epic flying.  We can cater for  parties of 1 up to 25 (dorm style) offering accommodation solutions to suit your budget and holiday needs.
