getting here

FLY

Fly to Nice or Marseille (MP2) - Nice is about 1 hour 40 minutes drive, Marseille is just over 2 hours.   Easyjet, Ryanair, BA and many other major airlines fly to both airports. Use Skyscanner to shop around for the best deal and flight times. Easyjet is the only airline (that we know of) with direct flights from Scotland, both out of Edinburgh to Nice. Ryanair offers an Edinburgh flight to Marseille.

TIP:  We find most major airlines reset their pricing algorithms on a Sunday making Monday the cheapest day to book…  so when you book, make it a Monday!

BY BUS

Travelling from Nice:  There is a great bus service, which runs from the Nice Airport to Castellane, a local village, about 25 minutes drive from the house. We can arrange collection from here if you need help.

Travelling from Marseille:  Again there is a great bus service running from Marseille Airport, as far as Digne-les-Bains. We can collect you from Digne or hop on the Chemins de Fer mountain train (details below) and we can collect you from the station in St Andre.

BY TRAIN

Catch the famous mountain railway with the most spectacular views – the Chemins de Fer is a journey through gorges and mountains you won't forget.  The train stops in Saint Andre and we can collect from the station here.

TIP: Please note the train leaves from the Gare de Nice, behind the main Nice station, Gare de Nice-Ville. There is only a 5-minute walk between the two stations.

DRIVE

Getting about in the region is easier if you have a car, however there are great public transport links from both airports and we can arrange a shuttle service should you need it.  In winter – you might need snow chains.  We also have a 4x4 which we can lend to guests from time to time on a ‘you bend you mend’. She is very old and needs a lot of love, but she’s worth it!

TIP: Nice car hire can sometimes get busy, we recommend the driver bolts off the plane straight to the car hire centre at Terminal 2 (T2) to beat the queue.

Don’t trust the Sat Nav to get you to the doorstep.

Heading from Nice, turn right at the Supermarket on the outskirts of town on the main Nice/Digne road.

Carry on straight along the road, with the landing field on your right. At Aerogliss flying school the road bears sharp left.

Stay on this road to the fork and large car park, Bear right (almost straight ahead).

Follow the road upwards to the old wood & steel bridge.  Its perfectly strong!!!

On leaving the bridge the road bears sharp right up the hill towards the house. Ours is the first house on your right, just enter the car park and come find us.
