Sail, swim, paddle.... endless fun in the Lac de Castillon
Fly St Andre is perched on a hill over looking Lac de Castillon.
The lake is a delightful azure blue and the perfect spot to cool off in the heat of the summer days whether you've been flying or chilling. Its great for all the family or for a refreshing dip after an exciting adventure.

Most people head to the public beach just along the N202 towards Nice where there is plenty of parking, space to lay out your towels and easy access to the lake. It is manned by Life Guards in the summer months and is perfectly safe to swim.
There are some more secluded fisherman's spots along that same stretch, some marked with pull-in spots. On the beach there are spots to hire pedalos, kayaks, paddlboards, windsurfers, hobie cats and power boats. There is also an inflatable aqua park which the kids (6+) will LOVE!!!

If you need lunch... or just an ice cream, the Snack du Lac is fantastic. They have bands on at night during the summer, watch out for the signs and leaflets in the Shack.
Further along the lake there is a great little beach at St Julien de Verdon which has a little more shade but is on a slight hill so not great if you have trouble walking. Here there is a sailing club perched right on the water, so you can enjoy an Ice Cream and Rosé wine enjoying the breathtaking view of the lake.
The River Verdon flows into Lac de Castillon at St Andre and is released at the Barrage de Castillon to flow onto Castellane and the Verdon gorge.
Rafting takes place on the river throughout the summer below Castellane and is dependent on the flow of water released from the dam (usually 3 days per week during summer). Rafting can be arranged at the rafting centre in the town of Castellane.
